This past week I was blessed to be invited to play at Southern Highlands Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nevada. Talk about an unbelievable golf club! Southern Highlands Golf Club is about 15-20 minutes off the strip and absolutely breathtaking. From the moment you get past the guard gate, all the incredible scenery begins.
As I pull up, I was greeted at the bag drop and was unfortunately informed there was a frost delay. Yes, a frost delay in February in Vegas- IT WAS SO COLD! Frost delays mean more time to take in the amazing views and some yummy breakfast!
The view from the 19th hole of Southern Highlands was of the practice area and the 18th hole was absolutely amazing.
I couldn’t stop starring. Their practice facility was picture perfect and was the entire club has incredible customer service.
This course may be one of the toughest tracks I have every played. The course design was stunning. The greens were rolling about a 13-14 and rolled so true (I was so excited, I love fast greens) and the grass was a lush green. The views were insane, from the Red Rocks to being able to see the Las Vegas Strip, I was in aw! The houses on the course were ginormous and beautifully designed (Floyd Mayweather lives on 13).
Even with the weather being so cold and windy, I still had an amazing day. It could have been because of all the amazing views, great company and how I almost got a hole in 1 on #12! This course is far enough away to get a break from the Strip but close enough to still have an amazing view of it. It’s a taste of both worlds, the strip view one way, Red Rocks the other way.
It was an unforgettable day of golf. I recommend if you are able to get out to Southern Highlands to play, do it! I can’t wait to make a trip back to Vegas just to play this course again!
